Four mango treats you cannot miss when in Thailand

As you start getting to know Thailand, you will learn that fruit is fresh, plentiful and available everywhere. You’ll find great smoothies and juices being sold in colorful stalls by vendors, each one raving about great theirs is.

One of the most popular fruits in Thailand is the mango. It tastes a thousand times better than home, and I highly recommend you to consume it in as many varieties as possible, as many times as possible. Below, you’ll find my favorite mango treats that I discovered during my trip.

Mango Smoothie at Make me Mango Cafe in Bangkok

Make Me Mango cafe is a Thai-based cafe chain offering all the mango treats you could ever dream of. I started of simply with a mango smoothie which I was supposed to take to go. It was incredible. We visited the venue inside IconSiam, which is a relatively new, huge shopping center located along the Chao Phraya in Bangkok. It has over 500 stores and I can highly recommend a visit. It is stunning for being a shopping center, and there are plenty of stores that you wouldn’t find at home.

Mango Bingsu at Make me Mango Cafe in Bangkok

After sipping the Mango smoothie for a minute, I noticed that Make Me Mango Cafe also had a mango bingsu. Unable to resist, I ordered despite the fact that I would be heading for Afternoon Tea an hour later. It was, however worth it. It was among the top desserts I’ve had in Thailand, and you got to try plenty of mango items.

In addition to the Bingsu, it came with sliced mango, mango ice cream and some more of their mango smoothie. I was quite full after this one, but also more in love with mango than I’ve ever been before. If you find yourself at Make me Mango cafe, you definitely need to try it!

Mango with sticky rice is one of the most famous desserts in Thailand. It is essentially mango served with sweet rice with a sticky texture. It tastes great, but this is mostly due to the freshly cut slices of mango.

The rice part can appear a little strange if you’re not familiar with rice desserts, as they are mostly found around Eastern Asia. It is definitely worth a try, and the one pictured above is from Damnoen Saduak Floating market, located about an hour outside Bangkok.

Mango Juice at Mango Tree Restaurant

Although this is supposed to be about the delicious, freshly made mango juice that is pictured above, I also have share my love for the restaurant itself, Mango Tree Restaurant.

One of our tour guides took us here for lunch as part of our tour of the temples in Bangkok. If you feel like you need a break from the street food but are still looking for something on the cheaper side, this is a great tip. It is actually a chain of restaurants, with a few locations around Bangkok. I ordered the Phad Thai, and it is the best one I’ve had so far in my life. Served with plenty of taste without being too spicy, I still dream about it to this day.

Now, if we’re going to talk mango, I also ordered a mango juice, which was incredible. This restaurant offered all the fruit juices you could dream of, and it was sort of a heavenly experience for me. Once I was done with my mango juice, I went on to steal my boyfriend’s watermelon juice. You should definitely come here if you’re in Bangkok, and if you do, make sure to check out the fruit drinks!
