My top 3 breakfasts in NYC

When it comes to food – NYC is the place to be. There is nothing you won’t find in this city, and it is also the perfect place to enjoy those signature American dishes that we all know and love. Today I’m rounding up my top three favourite breakfasts from my most recent trip to The Big Apple.

1. American Pancakes at IHOP

IHOP is one of my favourite restaurants in the US. It is available nationwide so it’s not NYC specific, but I ‘ve never left this place disappointed. The pancakes taste better than at any other pancake place I’ve visited, and they are cheaper than most places too, especially in NYC. You are well taken care of by the personnel, and they have so much to choose from in the menu. This might not be as premium and unique as you’d expect on a list of top breakfasts in NYC, but sometimes simple is better.

2. Eggs Benedict at Balthazar

Balthazar is a beautiful French- style Brasserie located in Soho. It is a NYC classic, and the venue is stunning. The personnel takes great care of you, and their Eggs Benedict are among the best I’ve ever had. My main reason for not putting this at number one is the price tag, and the fact that my experience at IHOP was just as enjoyable, even if it was a completely different style of restaurant. I left both places with great experiences, but Balthazar was twice the price, therefore the bang for buck ratio isn’t as good as with IHOP.

3. Salmon and Cream Cheese Bagel at Zucker’s Bagels

Bagels are a must when in NYC, and there are plenty of great places for it. My favourite would be Zucker’s Bagels, which has numerous locations across the city. A price of $ 12.50 for a Bagel might seem harsh, but this is more than your average bagel. You get top quality ingredients stuffed inside a fresh bagel so big that you won’t be able to finish it. They are generous with every ingredient, and the bagels are way better than it looks from the picture. Truly a must-do while in NYC.

What are your favourite breakfast or brunch places in NYC, please let me know in the comments!
