My top Brunches in Stockholm

Stockholm offers many great dining options, which also includes amazing brunches. Years ago, I took it upon myself to have as many great brunches in life as possible. As a self-proclaimed brunch connoisseur in Stockholm, I hereby present my top choices. These restaurants are listed in no particular order, as they are all amazing in their own way.

Greasy Spoon

Greasy Spoon has been one of my go-to places for à la carte brunch for years now. Run by two brits, they seek to offer a modern take on British classics. Here you’ll find everything from eggs to pancakes and English breakfasts for reasonable prices. You will find the current brunch menu here.

Their Blueberry scotch pancakes with pistachio mascarpone. This is what I usually order when visiting.
They usually have weekly specials as well. This was a peach, pistachio and raspberry variation of their classic pancakes.

The only downside to this place is that it is really popular. They don’t take bookings and it is hard to get a table during weekends. This is usually my main reason for trying to vary myself and explore other places. However, besides from the crowds, this is a great choice for brunch. The staff takes good care of you, the food selection and quality of everything is impeccable. Overall, the experience is extraordinary and you’ll get good value for your money.

Their classic Eggs Benedict

Miss Clara Hotel

If you want to find a place that is almost as yummy as Greasy Spoon, but without the crowds, the brunch at Miss Clara Hotel is your spot. Here, they offer an à la carte brunch inspired by the venues of London and New York. Usually, there is live music as well, which adds to the cozy hotel environment.

American Pancakes Fresh berries, fruit compote, vanilla whipped cream and maple syrup

The dishes look about as good as they taste, and they have a great variety of items available on the menu as well. You can find the brunch menu here. It is usually quite easy to get a table here, as you can book in advance. They also have a stunning outdoor patio for warm summer evenings.

Griffin’s Steakhouse Extraordinaire

This steakhouse is well-known for classic high-quality American BBQ dishes in an beautiful, spacious environment. You can book a spot at their Saturday brunch buffet in advance, which I highly recommend. I’ve shared more about the experience in a previous blog post, where you’ll also find more images. Unfortunately, the brunch is currently unavailable due to the current Covid-19 situation, but I encourage you to visit when it’s available again.

The Cadier Bar at Grand Hôtel

Grand Hôtel has always been one of the most luxurious hotels in Stockholm. You can expect everything to be on point, including their brunch. They have an à la carte menu as well as a three course set brunch menu. The set menu includes the following:

Starter: Bleak roe, toast, crème fraiche, red onion & lemon
Main course: Eggs Benedict, classic or Scandinavian
Dessert: Chocolate cheesecake

Everything looks and tastes fantastic. You sit comfortably in the Cadier Bar, overlooking the water, boats and the Royal Castle. Fortunately, you can book this one in advance as well, which means no hustling to secure your spot.

Il Tempo

This Italian gem is inspired by Little Italy in New York City. They serve up indulgent pizza and pasta classics. The brunch includes buffet style appetizers and desserts, but also an a la carte main dish of your choice. This is a great combination when you want the benefits of a buffet, but the quality of à la carte food for dishes that aren’t good for a buffet. Unfortunately, this brunch is currently not available due to the Covid-19 situation, but I highly encourage you to visit once it comes back.

You will find everything from pizza to salads, to creme brûlée, ice cream and pasta dishes here. The restaurant itself is quite large, but the vibe is still cozy. You are well taken care of, and I can ensure that you will leave this restaurant happy, but with a food coma.

Looks like a pretty good plate of Italian food
