During our time in Phuket, we made sure to visit a few of the beautiful resorts that are scattered across the island. One of these resorts was the beautiful Avista Hideaway just south of Patong. The hotel is large yet cozy, and calm with plenty of dining options and beautiful views.
We chose to visit their Vista restaurant which offers a variety of Thai, Indian, Chinese and western food options. We started off with a cocktail overlooking one of their pools. The location was beautiful, and the service was very attentive and took great care of us during our evening. Our waitress made sure to spray the area under our table with mosquito repellent as well, which I really appreciated. I love how polite and helpful most of the Thai people were during our trip.
After drinks, we decided to go for a set two course menu (550 THB each) which included a thai soup followed by a main dish.
Below you’ll see our main dishes. They tasted great, but was not extraordinary. It was true comfort food in a beautiful and relaxed location. This was definitely more of a westernized version of Thai food than you’d see at authentic thai restaurants and street food stalls around Thai cites. We did, however appreciate that. I am not very fond of spicy food, and after trying a few new things you just want to mix it up with something you know that you’ll like.
Since we were so full from the soup and main dishes, there wasn’t really room for dessert. Instead, we opted for a walk around the lush hotel grounds before going back to the lobby and asking for a taxi back to our own hotel.
As it was dark, it wasn’t really possible to see all of the beauty and feel of the hotel, but if you’d like to see more I’ve put one of their videos below. The hotel is perfect for a romantic getaway, especially if you want to relax but still have adventures available around the corner.
Have you been to any of the resorts around Phuket? Which was your favourite one? Let me know in the comments!
